Lawrence Ritter, the man responsible for the greatest baseball book ever created (in my humble opinion), The Glory of Their Times, has died.
If you have not read the book, you owe it to yourself as a baseball fan to do so. And once you have read it, track down the collection of recordings from the interviews that informed the book. They were released on CD a few years back. I can proudly say that I have both in my baseball collection. I can think of no better tribute to this man than experiencing his masterwork, whether for the first or the hundredth time.
